Terms of Service

Roamies ("we," "our," or "us") is a dating and social app for the vanlife community. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our mobile application and related services. Please read them carefully.

By creating an account or using Roamies, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Roamies.
• You must be able to form a binding contract and comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.
• If you are using the app on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. Account and Registration

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and keep your profile updated.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account.
• You may sign in using Apple or Google; your use of those services is also subject to their respective terms.
• Roamies may use an invite-only system; use of invite codes must comply with any rules we communicate.

3. Use of the Service

You may use Roamies for personal, non-commercial use to connect with other users, manage your profile, use discovery and matching features, chat with matches, and participate in convoy (travel plans) features in accordance with these Terms and our guidelines.

3.1 Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable law or encourage others to do so.
• Harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or harm other users.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
• Post false, misleading, or illegal content, or content that infringes others' rights.
• Use the service for spam, advertising, or commercial solicitation without our permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, other accounts, or our systems.
• Use bots, scripts, or automated means to access or use the service except where we explicitly allow it.
• Circumvent any access controls, usage limits, or safety features we implement.

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or our policies.

4. Content You Provide

• You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g. photos, bio, messages). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate, promote, and improve the service (consistent with our Privacy Policy).
• You represent that you have the right to post your content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or these Terms.
• We may remove or refuse to display content that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, without prior notice.

5. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

• Roamies may offer premium subscriptions and one-time purchases (e.g. swipe packs). Payment is processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store; their terms and billing policies apply.
• Fees, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are governed by the applicable store and our in-app descriptions. We do not control store refund policies.
• We use third-party providers (e.g. RevenueCat) to manage subscriptions and restore purchases; your use remains subject to these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

Roamies and its name, logo, design, and other materials we provide are our property or our licensors'. You may not copy, modify, or use our branding or materials without our prior written permission.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We disclaim all warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law (including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose).

We do not verify the identity, background, or conduct of users. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users and for your safety when meeting in person.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roamies and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service (including conduct of other users or third parties). Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred dollars (USD 100), whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Roamies and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the service, your content, your conduct, or your violation of these Terms or any third-party rights.

10. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting us.
• We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason (including breach of these Terms).
• Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification) will survive.

11. Disputes and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where prohibited by law. You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class action to the extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the app and/or by other appropriate means (e.g. in-app notice or email). The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the Terms were last revised. Your continued use of Roamies after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service.
